Traditional cooking in the heart of the Aosta old town centre
Aosta, in the heart of the old town centre, within the Porta Praetoriana (the ancient access to the Roman town of Augusta Praetoria), you can find the restaurant Vecchia Aosta.
Enjoy your meal savouring the tastes of the Aosta Valley traditional cooking and feeling the strong atmosphere of thousand-year history.
A welcoming, warm and refined ambiance: three small dining rooms on the first floor, a fourth dining room on the second floor and a Brasserie. During summertime guests can also dine outdoor facing one of the best preserved historical find of the Roman Empire.
The menu varies with the seasons and offers dishes coming from the Aosta Valley regional tradition without leaving out French gourmet cuisine specialities.
Among the appetizer suggestions: tuna veal, crayfishes with thyme and legumes cream, artichokes puff with cheese.
To continue with the first courses: potato dumplings with Bleu d’Aoste (a typical Aosta Valley cheese), leeks and potatoes soup with peanuts or the traditional polenta.
For second course you can choose: duck breast with lemon and honey caramel, fillet steak with pineapple cream, cheese fondue.
Nothing better than a sweet dessert to conclude: apple pie, dark chocolate patty-cake, cream profiterol with chocolate fondue.
